Tears and laughter hand in hand
Tears and laughter hand in hand… This is how the two last days have been at BIT. At one moment we heard touching stories about christian families that have been scattered and pastors that have been tortured for their faith and still are in prison in some of the nations in Asia. Then we listened to the stories on creative ways of distributing thousands and millions of Bibles cross borders and into the hands of believers. “What is a vision and how do we go from vision into action?” These are some of the questions being focused on. Our friends from SE Asia have really been incouraging, inspiring and helped us all on our way further towards the life God is dreaming for us to live…Yes, we did cry and laugh – hand in hand, as God visited us once again at BIT. Look out for more Open Days in time to come!

Open days: Monday and Tuesday 23.-24. Of April 9AM-1.30PM
Sonny og Dalhia
One of our many very exciting visitors we will have during the school year is Sonny. He is a native Philippine, but has lived in Thailand for approximately 35 years. As a young missionary with his base in Thailand he traveled through great parts of Asia as a “Bible-intermediary” in countries that are on top of the list considered persecution of believers. He was field director for the organisation Open Doors. Furthermore, he established two organisations based in Bangkok, Thailand, where one only works with Asian countries outside the border and the other only with Thailand. For all these years Sonny has been occupied with these things: Building relationships and networks between national leaders across Christianity in Asia, support the families of pastors and leaders who have been imprisoned or muredered for their faith, distribute litterature in countries where this otherwise is impossible, and gather first hand information from the field, and than spread that to the many prayer partners around the globe. He will during his stay here be one of the main speakers during Betel Trondheim’s first national ASIA – conference, in april this year, and teach at BIT. With him he will bring his wife Deliah. This will be her first visit to our country. Deliah is a woman who burns especially to see other women function with the gifts that God has given them. She travels a lot in countries where Christians are being persecuted for their faith, and where women are often particularly targeted. Deliah is a very gifted and inspiring preacher, and she is highly respected and adored everywhere she comes and ministers. She will also preach in the first women meeting for Jesus Women in Trondheim, Monday evening at 7 pm in Betel.

kick-off after Easter Holiday
Watch out! Tomorrow is kick-off after Easter Holiday. “Kick-off for what?” you may wonder. Easter Holiday is like a separation between two chapters of a book. The time before the Holiday me and many others had lots of experiences of the presence of God and deep heart plowing from heaven. Some days were full of training and the atmosphere of God. Now a new chapter is ahead of us. Now let us choose to let God continue the work in us. We still haven`t crossed the finish line. There is more land to possess and inherit. And the way I understand God I believe the best is yet to come. Remember the wedding in Caanan (the best wine in the end).
Beloved 1. and 2. year! See you tomorrow at 10:00 am sharp.

Japan next
Our India team just came back with great reports and now our principal Heidi, is on her way to Japan! There she will follow up on one of our 2. year students, Silvia. She is based in Japan for 9 weeks, as her missions practice through the school. Silvia has for many years had a burning desire to live and work towards Japan and she is now also speaking Japanese fluently – without even attending language school! In Japan Silvia is joining in for ministry towards street evangelism and also helping victims after the tsunami. Our dear principal is now going to spend some days together with Silvia and we expect good news when she next week arrives back to Norway!

Øyvind in Lofoten
I am now at the airport at Leknes, Northern Norway. The plan was to land yesterday just after lunch but due to strong winds we had to return to Bodø and wait there another 5 + hours.
Today I had a great day together with our 2.year student Øyvind and also his main contact up here, Pål Sverre Aasen, who is youth pastor in Betel Leknes. Øyvind is having his 7 weeks of practice in that church. Very exciting ministry is being runned here among children and youths, to mention two areas. Øyvind is enjoying life and getting stretched for the sake of the Gospel.
