2ndYear

Goal in the 2nd year

We help you direct more and more towards the calling you have on your life!

  • You’ll learn how you can communicate the Jesus-life to all generations and cultures.
  • You will be actively involved to change the atmorsphere in Norway’s third biggest city.
  • Pioneer work in Trondheim, Trøndelag and Middle Norway.
  • You will be part of the planning, implementing and the follow-up of evangelism campaigns towards unreached people groups!
  • After you’ve finished the second year, you will be able to stand in ministry for God and people, no matter where in the world you are –no matter what situation you’re in!

School day

Teaching takes place mainly in our offices, Monday – Friday between. 08.30 to 13.30. Each morning begins with worship, prayer and inspiration, and halfway through the school day, we have prayer school. In these gatherings all students and staff are together. We offer a spiritual and living environment filled with prayer, worship and inspiration! We are blessed with talented and experienced teachers who teach the Word of God in an inspiring way.

Subjects

Here, the year focuses on these subjects: Pioneer ministry, Visionary leadership, Equip, Teambuilding, Preaching Training, Mission, Church planting, Ministry gifts, Culture understanding, Other religions- Islam, Buddhism, Revival History, Various themes from the Bible: the Book of Job, Isaiah, Daniel’s Book , Galatians etc. The subjects are being taught by a wide range of men and women, from different Christian contexts and with different types of ministries and specialties. We emphasize that you as a pupil will be trained and served by the various spiritual gifts described in Eph.4: 11-12.

Group practice

From the second school week, we start with Teambuilding. There will also be one day a week of practice on which the class will work together as a team toward common goals during the school year. These can be conferences and events in Trondheim, weekend campaigns in rural areas etc. Here you will, as 2nd year students, be included in the main team for the planning, implementation and monitoring of relevant events.

Internship

In the spring there will be 6 weeks of continuous practice. This is an individually tailored exercise program where each student will exercise gifts and talents out on the mission field. The practice will be prepared and followed up in a communication between the class leader, the pupil and field of practice. In the spring, some of our students travel to Bangladesh and have this as part of their internship, while others choose to spend their 6 weeks at a local church or organization here at home. One of the students chose 3 weeks in Thailand and 3 weeks in Trondheim. We have good contacts in countries such as India, Thailand, Israel, Uganda, Niger and Belarus, in addition to the network Bit has in Norway, etc. Here the possibilities are endless!

Outreach Bangladesh

As the first part of the internship, we offer a trip to Muslim Bangladesh! A unique opportunity! 160 million people spread over a very small geographic area! 98% Muslim. In this small country in Asia, we have contact with a great team which is the only one there that in practice plans, implements and follows up evangelism campaigns – open air! As part of the internship of 2nd year students, you have the opportunity to participate in the campaign in February! What one can expect is thousands of unreached people in the evening meetings, inspiring and challenging training from local evangelists during the day, prayer for the sick that get healed, and to experience a culture completely alien to our own. Everyone in our team is going to be in function and taking important steps for Jesus! The tour leader is also the main speaker on the campaign; class leader for 2nd year, Dag Heggset, who also has a strong evangelistic and missionary service.

Outreach to Bellarus

Already at the end of September, the 2nd year will be traveling to Belarus on a missions trip! Over there we have good contacts that plan, implement and follow up the project with us. So we are in the best of hands! There are two main focuses during the trip: one is that we should get to know each other better and get familiar with each other as a class. The second focus is that we can be of a great blessing to this country that so desperately needs the Gospel of Jesus! Both class leaders at Bit are travel managers and who both have long experience in traveling in missionary service: Bjørnar  (1st year) has among others been a missionary in Turkey for several years and Dag (2ndyear) has for many years traveled to, and also lived in Thailand, among other countries. We ask that each student budgets 4.000 NOK for this trip. This includes travel and accommodation. This is a wonderful and important start to a unique school year!

Cellgroups

All students will be part of a cell group. This normally takes place one evening every other week.

Mentor

You will get a personal mentor who will follow you up throughout the year as a conversation partner, supporter and helper. These are hand picked for you and for your growth in life with God.

School trips

During the school year we are planning to travel out of the city as an important part of the training. Subject to change, you can expect to have the opportunity to participate in at least two weekend trips to Norway’s districts and one conference in Scandinavia, as well as opportunities associated with the internship.
We will also start the school year have a “get to know each other trip”, where 1st and 2nd year and the staff spend time together at a camp site or similar.

“Get to know each other-trip”

We immediately start off with projects that create security, inspiration and that help the students to get to know each other. After the school starts, from August 31 – September 2, we will spend the night at Vasskapellet just outside of Trondheim. This will be together with the second year and the staff at Bit. This will not cost you anything extra.
